DESCRIPTION:Quarterly Welcome Compassion Meetings \nSHBHU will have A Welcome Compassion Meetings every 3 months (quarterly) starting in January 2017 at one of our In Kind Facility Sponsors. These quarterly  “Compassion meetings” are specifically for the following 4 reasons: \n\nThese meetings are another accessible compassion mission to welcome new and seasoned registered members and a time for them to ask seasoned Ambassadors\, seasoned Small Handers\, parents and leadership team questions about SHBHU.  \nThese meetings are a time for new members to be able to share with all of us what drew them to the SHBHU mission and how they can be involved. DESCRIPTION:Come and join SHBHU in this compassion mission to help serve meals to those in the Downtown Raleigh area at the Oak City Outreach Center (OCOC). OCOC is the outcome of the continual efforts to provide food assistance to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and/or lack of food on a daily basis in downtown Raleigh. Their goal is to help “close the hunger gap together.” SHBHU has partnered with OCOC to help serve meals on the third Sunday of every month. Please arrive at 1:00 PM to help set up food that will e served from 1:30-2:15 and then clean up until 2:30 PM.  We will be serving food that is generously donated by another organization. However SHBHU would like to supplement this meal with beverages\, dessert\, and paper products. Once registration is full\, a sign up with items needed will be emailed to you.

Every compassion meeting will not he help at one of the SHBHU’s In Kind Donor Church facilities (Calvary Chapel Raleigh or Swift Creek Baptist) and only periodically at the Host Family’s Home. We are very grateful for our In Kind Sponsors and their generous offers to use their locations for these Compassion Meetings. DESCRIPTION:Come and join SHBHU in this compassion mission to help serve meals to those in the Downtown Raleigh area at the Oak City Outreach Center (OCOC). OCOC is the outcome of the continual efforts to provide food assistance to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and/or lack of food on a daily basis in downtown Raleigh. Their goal is to help “close the hunger gap together.” SHBHU has partnered with OCOC to help serve meals on the third Sunday of every month. Please arrive at 1:00 PM to help set up food that will e served from 1:30-2:15 and then clean up until 2:30 PM.  We will be serving food that is generously donated by another organization. However SHBHU would like to supplement this meal with beverages\, dessert\, and paper products. Once registration is full\, a sign up with items needed will be emailed to you.

DESCRIPTION:The SHBHU Monthly Member Meetings are in themselves just  another accessible compassion mission opportunity for Triangle families. If a lead family is designated and topic proposed\, SHBHU will be now be organizing these meetings every 4th Thursday each month. The Small Hander meeting and the Ambassador meeting will be at the same time and location but in different rooms for better accessibility to all families especially those with both aged children. Every compassion meeting will not he help at one of the SHBHU’s In Kind Donor Church facilities (Calvary Chapel Raleigh or Swift Creek Baptist) and only periodically at the Host Family’s Home. We are very grateful for our In Kind Sponsors and their generous offers to use their locations for these Compassion Meetings. SUMMARY:Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Field Gleaning
DESCRIPTION:Join SHBHU and help the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle through Field Gleaning.  This project will be harvesting excess and unmarketable produce at a local farm\, which will be distributed to community members in need. Gleaning takes about 2-3 hours and includes harvesting and hauling produce. The local farm will be determined the week before and can be up to a 45 mile drive from the Raleigh area. An online waiver will be sent out once you register. \nClosed toes shoes required.

DESCRIPTION:“Flip Out for Skylar” – If you know Skylar you know she is so funny and is always laughing and flipping out over something. That is why we love doing? We will be selling custom flip flops. We will be Cobra Stitching over flip flops with dark blue\, light blue and yellow paracord. These are the colors of the Cystic Fibrosis logo. We will start TODAY! We will make these flip flops\, sell them\, fundraise and recruit members to Skylar’s Striders” CFF Walk Team NOW UNTIL the Skylar Striders CFF WALK in May. All we would need is of course flip flops\, paracord\, charms and TEAM MEMBERS TO MAKE THE CUSTOM FLIP FLOPS! The 2 charms we chosen are Skylar’s favorite and very meaningful to her. The 2 charms we will place on the flip flops are dragonfly’s and pinwheels. The dragonfly she says is the symbol of freedom. The other charm is a pinwheel. This is the symbol of CFF and the walk every year.
