DESCRIPTION:Annual Dominican Republic Holiday Shoebox Drive for Dove Youth Development Center\n\nThe SHBHU Annual Holiday Shoeboxes of Love is READY for your Small Handers and Ambassadors! We now officially have the names and ages of 129 children this year at Dove Youth Development in the Dominican Republic. Message SHBHU at info@shbhu.org or BELOW if you are interested in decorating\, packing writing letters and/or donating any items for the SHOEBOXES of LOVE!\n\nDove Missions Youth Center in Puerto Plata\, Dominican Republic serves 160+ Dominican and Haitian children and their families every year who are living in extreme poverty. They provide educational services\, school supplies (including uniforms) \, extra curricular activities\, and food for the student’s families. Each December\, SHBHU families provide each child with a shoe box filled with gifts\, hygiene items\, sweet treats\, school supplies and a personal letter labeled especially for each child! You will receive the specific name and age of the child which makes for a personal and loving touch.  This is often the only gift they will receive and puts a huge smile on their face! It truly fills them with hope and love. DESCRIPTION:Hugs for Haiti Compassion Mission is calling all Ambassadors and Small Handers! Haiti needs your help!\nThe children pictured above have had to move to a new locatioan for their orphanige called “Children’s Village of Drugue”. However they still need our help.  Criminal gangs have grown and become increasingly violent due to economic hardship\, corruption\, political instability\, and the effects of natural disasters. Kidnappings for ransom and killings continue to grow. Most likely this will continue in the absence of a stable government.  The nonproift “Done In Love” is asking for our assistance in any way!  They still need funds for basic necessities for these children. Let’s brainstorm and come up with SHBHU unique and IMPACTFUL ways to show compassion to them!  Contact SHBHU or attend the next Compassion Meeting to be a part of this Compassion Mission. \n

DESCRIPTION:Calling all SHBHU Families! \nWe have an URGENT NEED for Ambassadors and Small Handers for the “Flip Out For Skylar” Compassion Mission! \nThe Wake Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk is May 14th! The Skylar’s Striders Team registration link will be sent out soon. We need walkers and volunteers! HOWEVER. we have an URGENT NEED! We need Ambassadors and Small Handers to help the Davis Family\, tie dye the Skylar’s Striders Team t-shirts over this upcoming week! We already have the white t-shirts purchased but we need help getting the t-shirts rolled\, rubber banded\, soaked in soda ash\, tie dyed\, rinsed and dried! \nIt’s a big task but MANY ways you can volunteer! \nSee the tie dyeing instructions\, the instructional video\, the volunteer opportunities and donation list BELOW. Please let us know asap how your Ambassadors and Small Handers can help! The Davis Family needs to get the Team Name stenciled on them before May 14th so we need all the help we can get to get these t-shirts ready for that step! \nVolunteer Opportunities: \n-Volunteers needed to help ROLL and DYE Skylar’s Striders Team tie dyed t-shirts. Let us know the number you can manage. \n– We can drop off the t-shirts\, rubber bands and soda ash. DESCRIPTION:Helping Hands Compassion Mission for our Senior Citizens\n \nSHBHU Ambassadors and Small Handers are ready to have theie quarterly compassion mission for our Senior Citizens in need AND their furry friends. \nWill you help them help our Partners at the SPCA of Wake County and also at Meals on Wheels? Did you know that for the 1 out of 4 seniors who live alone\, their pets provide a vital source of love and companionship for them? For some of the Seniors in our area\, their pets are the only family they may have! Did you know that the SPCA of Wake County supplies Meals on Wheels with pet food so that their furry companions receive the meals they need too! SHBHU Ambassadors and Small Handers have now formed a compassion mission to help out too! \nThere are 2 unique ways you can help! \n#1 We will be packing breakfast bags for our Seniors in need in partnership with Meals on Wheels. If you can volunteer to pack and decorate any amount of breakfast bags that would be fantastic! If you would just like to donate the food items that is great too! Meals on Wheels are requesting a juicebox\, a fruit\, a package of instant oatmeal and a granola bar in each bag. DATE TO BE DETERMINED \n#2 We also have here is a list of specific items the SPCA and Meals on Wheels are requesting for their Senior’s furry companions who bring them so much joy. See list below. \nLastly\, we have also provided a list of accessible SHBHU family drop off locations if you would like to donate any of these items. Our hope is to make this compassion mission as accessible as ever so all can participate. \nNeeded SPCA items:\nGIFT CARDS NEEDED! These can be in any amount at all!
