SUMMARY:Flip Out for Skylar - Let's raise money to find a cure for Cysits Fibrosis!
DESCRIPTION:The lead Ambassadors and Small Handers in the Hearts to Smiles commitee are focused on nurturing compassion to others by providing Compassion Missions that INCLUDE ANY AND EVERYONE to simply make them smile. This committee believes no act of kindness is too small and that everyone can bring smiles and love to those who may be experiencing difficulty\, who are ill\, or  have feelings of isolation. One team has a Compassion Mission called “Flip Out for Skylar” and they have been leading and growing this for 9 years now.  Skylar is a founding member of SHBHU\, a friend\, role model and inspiration. She has Cystic Fibrosis but she doesn’t let that define her. She is an example to ALL who meet her of how to be a leader\, show compassion to others and live a life with purpose.   \nThe CF foundation supports the development of new drugs to fight the disease\, improve the quality of life for people with CF\, and ultimately find a cure for Skylar. This commitee will raise money to help do this year round.  \nThey have made bracelets\, custom winter hats and flip flops.  If you have an idea of something to make and sell let them know! They make these items in the colors of the Cystic Fibrosis logo to remind people of the cause\, to FIND A CURE for CF!  They try to sell them ALL YEAR ROUND to help raise money for the Skylar Strides CF Walk Team.   \nSHBHU will supply you with all that you need or you can host a small group at your home and a Lead Ambassador will instruct your group on how to make the hats and flip flops!  \n

SUMMARY:High Five With Love Compassion Mission! ONE MONTH GOAL! 10 FAMILIES!
DESCRIPTION:High Five With Love Compassion Mission \nA SHBHU Covid-19 response mission called High Five With Love Compassion Mission is being led by the Ambassador Passing the Torch program! This team is being led by Ambassador(s) Isabella\, Anne Marie\, Tony and Mia. Email Ambassador Isabella at isapease@gmail.com  if you want to join this team and help out in any way. They have proposed this mission to help the Wake County Human Services. WCHS is helping local families who do not have sufficient access to many basic household and personal care resources during this pandemic. Getting supplies like these below has been very difficult for many families throughout this Covid-19 pandemic.\nThe SHBHU High Five Compassion Mission Team will be challenging everyone to “give a high five to each other” EACH TIME AFTER 5 kits are made. WHY the high five after 5 kits you ask? Well\, because 5 families will have been shown compassion AND and after 5 kits have been made\, SHBHU will then use funds to MATCH those 5 kits!  \nLet’s show 10 families they are loved!  \nWe also need SHBHU families to help distribute these kits on these days below. Email Anita Pease at anita@shbhu.org if you can help on any of these days. \n\nTuesday\, November 3rd from 5p.m. until 7p.m. at the Poole Family YMCA in Garner\nThursday\, November 5th from 5p.m. until 7p.m. at the YMCA at Knightdale Station\n\nIf anyone wants to just buy a few of the items below and assemble the kits\, this team can drop off the other items at your house.  All you would need to do is purchase a few of the itesm on the list\, pack the kits\, write a sweet compassion note for each kit and drop the kits back off at one of the designated SHBHU drop off locations.  Email us for those addresses. SUMMARY:Serving Smiles with an extra gift from Pinnacle Branding!
DESCRIPTION:The generous company\, Pinnacle Branding donated 10+ boxes of brand new t-shirts\, collard shirts\, hoodies and many other various items to assist with the SHBHU mission. We are so thankful to this company for their kindness AND so are those that received them during our Serving Smiles compassion mission at Oak City Cares this past SUNDAY!  SHBHU families volunteered to deliver these shirts and over 180+ bagged lunches for those in need. Thank you to all the families that have participated in this compassion mission this month and thank youPINNACLE BRANDING!   \nOther nonprofits who ALSO received some shirts and sweatshirts were Note in the Pocket\, Dorcas Ministry and Salvation Army. A few Ambassadors even passed some shirts and bagged lunches out to people in need in Moores Square in downtown Raleigh. SHBHU families and our generous donors really come together to show compassion at a moment’s notice! \n

This is to help protect volunteers and those in need! It costs $3.13 for one person to eat. We typically serve about 180-200 people during one meal time! Please consider donating through the link below to help provide enough meals for all during this crazy time! You can reach out to me with any further questions! DONATE BELOW! \nhttps://oakcitycares.org/donate/ \n\n\n\n\n\nMeals on Wheels – Raleigh\nThis nonprofit delivers food to seniors—safely\, per CDC guidelines\, as our elders are at greater risk of serious illness from COVID-19—and makes sure they’re not left on their own while the country hunkers down. People can donate to the national branch\, or call up their local Meals on Wheels provider to see how they can help. https://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/
