Small Hander Ava is leading an impactful Compassion Mission for the Oak City Outreach Center and needs your help! So far she has independently proposed, led and organized this thoughtful Compassion mission with ALREADY some FANTASTIC results! She was even able to get Whole Foods to donate 303 of the following to her cause: brown bags, KIND bars, water bottles and napkins. Ava and her team will be packing brown bag lunches and delivering them on Decemeber 26th to our friends at the Oak City Outreach Center. Message for more details! Great Job Small Hander Ava!  

Chapter Cheer at the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill Story and Crafts with the siblings of the children who are in the hospital and possibly the children who are receiving care at the hospital too. The Ronald McDonald House has asked SHBHU to have no more than 6 people including parents at one time so that we can maintain flexibility and maintain a calm, relaxing atmosphere for the families staying there. Attending families will be responsible for story and follow craft. SHBHU can supply if needed.

Join SHBHU on the third Sunday of every month serving meals with a smile to those experiencing homelessness in the Downtown Raleigh area. OCOC is the result of many organizations working together in an effort to help close the hunger gap! SHBHU volunteers will bring food, drinks, and paper products to help support the main meal. Volunteers arrive at OCOC at 1:00pm to help set up the food line and we are usually finished cleaning up about 2:30pm. Volunteers will receive an email a couple days prior with specifics on what to bring with them. Any age can volunteer and […]

UPCOMING One Doorstep at a Time Food Drive UPDATE - Stay tuned for more details and specifics on times! Ambassador Director Maylea is leading a GREAT Compassion Mission to help other children and teens in need. You will be able to join her in MANY ACCESSIBLE WAYS (see volunteer opps below) in her UPCOMING ODAAT in partnership with the Athens Drive Magnet High School Backpack Buddies program! This program serves approximately 30 Athens Drive students who otherwise would not have food during non-school days. The program discretely distributes backpacks filled with food each Friday. Join SHBHU at the Raleigh Food Pantry for Kids Day working in the warehouse sorting food, repacking, storing food items, or helping with the children's clothing area. Children must be accompanied by an adult and be 8 years old. When registering only include number of children, not adults. Email with any questions.
