“Flip Out for Skylar” - If you know Skylar you know she is so funny and is always laughing and flipping out over something. That is why we love doing? We will be selling custom flip flops. We will be Cobra Stitching over flip flops with dark blue, light blue and yellow paracord. These are the colors of the Cystic Fibrosis logo. We will start TODAY! Story and Crafts with the siblings of the child who is in the hospital and possibly the children who are receiving care at the hospital too. The Ronald McDonald House has asked SHBHU to have no more than 6 people including parents at one time so that we can maintain flexibility and maintain a calm, relaxing atmosphere for the families staying there. We have had a great success so far with the first two events and the children there are really enjoying hanging out with our small handers.

Come and join SHBHU in this compassion mission to help serve meals to those in the Downtown Raleigh area at the Oak City Outreach Center (OCOC). OCOC is the outcome of the continual efforts to provide food assistance to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and/or lack of food on a daily basis in downtown Raleigh. Their goal is to help "close the hunger gap together." SHBHU has partnered with OCOC to help serve meals on the third Sunday of every month. Please arrive at 1:00 PM to help set up food that will e served from 1:30-2:15 and then clean […]

Join SHBHU and help the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle through Field Gleaning.  This project will be harvesting excess and unmarketable produce at a local farm, which will be distributed to community members in need. Gleaning takes about 2-3 hours and includes harvesting and hauling produce. The local farm will be determined the week before and can be up to a 45 mile drive from the Raleigh area. An online waiver will be sent out once you register. Closed toes shoes required.

The SHBHU Monthly Member Meetings are in themselves just  another accessible compassion mission opportunity for Triangle families. If a lead family is designated and topic proposed, SHBHU will be now be organizing these meetings every 4th Thursday each month. The Small Hander meeting and the Ambassador meeting will be at the same time and location but in different rooms for better accessibility to all families especially those with both aged children. Support two Missions in one BIG Day! Car Wash, Dog Wash, and Backpack Drive to support Dove Missions Youth Development Center in Dominican Republic AND the SPCA. We need volunteers to wash cars, dogs, and hold up signs to promote the wash! Come out and join the fun!
