Create crafts and read stories with children at the Ronald McDonald House.  The children at the House are siblings of kids receiving care at nearby hospitals.  This event is limited to a total of 6 adults and kids. Upon signing up, you will be contacted by a "Teen Ambassador" or member of the SHBHU Leadership Team to help you plan your activity. For all SHBHU activities, children are encouraged to take the lead role in brainstorming, planning and volunteering.

Come and join SHBHU in this compassion mission to help serve meals to those in the Downtown Raleigh area at the Oak City Outreach Center (OCOC). OCOC is the outcome of the continual efforts to provide food assistance to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and/or lack of food on a daily basis in downtown Raleigh. Their goal is to help "close the hunger gap together." SHBHU has partnered with OCOC to help serve meals on the third Sunday of every month. SHBHU welcomes family, Small Handers and Ambassadors to our monthly meeting. Ambassadors and Small Handers will meet separately to discuss past events and to plan upcoming ones. All attendees are encouraged to speak freely and contribute in ways they feel comfortable. The SHBHU monthly meeting is held on the 4th Thursday of each month.

Come to the Hearts and Hugs Across Boards Compassion Mission to loom hats for the babies in Hait for the Hope for Haiti Midwife Project. All looming supplies and instructions will be provided. No experience is needed, just compassion for others. The Small Handers and Ambassadors will also be collecting supplies for our friend Kim Sniffen who is a midwife traveling to Haiti in December to deliver babies there.
