Join SHBHU on the fourth Sunday of every month serving meals with a smile to those experiencing homelessness in the Downtown Raleigh area. OCC is the result of many organizations working together in an effort to help close the hunger gap! SHBHU volunteers will bring food, drinks, take home snacks and paper products to help support those in need. We typically serve about 200 meals during this time. Did you know that ¼ of Senior Citizens live alone with their pet as their only companion? Animal companionship is proven to be a powerful relationship that prevents depression and loneliness. However, as people age, caring for an animal can become more difficult physically and financially.
