This new compassion mission will be for our Afghan Neighbors coming to the Triangle area soon. We want them to all feel welcomed and loved in our community. SHBHU OPEN HOUSE / Compassion Meeting NEXT WEEK! ALL ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! September 29th Apex Community Center 6:30pm-8:30pm Come join us for our first in person SHBHU Compassion Meeting since the pandemic started! All will be wearing masks and social distancings and of course showing compassion! Ambassadors and Small Handers will be packing and decorating breakfast bags for Meals on Wheels Seniors, lunch bags for Oak City Cares and sorting clothes and making cards for Afghan refugees that have moved to the Triangle. The lead Ambassadors and Small Handers in the Hearts to Smiles commitee are focused on nurturing compassion to others by providing Compassion Missions that INCLUDE ANY AND EVERYONE to simply make them smile. This committee believes no act of kindness is too small and that everyone can bring smiles and love to those who may be experiencing difficulty, who are ill, or have feelings of isolation. Join SHBHU on the fourth Sunday of every month serving meals with a smile to those experiencing homelessness in the Downtown Raleigh area. OCC is the result of many organizations working together in an effort to help close the hunger gap! SHBHU volunteers will bring food, drinks, take home snacks and paper products to help support those in need. Volunteers arrive at OCC at 12:00pm to help set up the food line and we are usually finished cleaning up about 2:30pm.
